Instructional Coach (Secondary Social Studies)
Reports to: Assistant Superintendent with input from the Building Principal

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Holds a valid Wyoming teaching certificate in the specified content area.- A Master’s Degree in education is preferred for national certification by the national board for professional teaching standards and five years or more teaching experience in the content area.
- Possess knowledge in the content and areas of assessment in content area
- Leadership and facilitation skills to effectively provide adult instruction
- Technology literate and able to use technology for communication and instructional purposes
- Experience in adult instruction is beneficial
- Possess excellent communication skills

POSITION SUMMARY
To assist teachers with continued professional growth to improve instructional practices and raise
student achievement.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Increase personal instructional skills in order to coach classroom teachers and other instructional staff using current, evidence based instructional practices.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of their coaching based on student performance data and staff feedback.
- Model evidence based instructional strategies in classrooms and in group demonstrations.
- Work with the Assistant Superintendent to lead the development and deployment of the District Assessment System by:
- Working with teachers to develop the content and timelines for district assessments.
- Building district assessments in the online platform K-5, Supporting 6-12 teachers in building district assessments in the online platform.
- Working with teachers to check alignment, validity, reliability, bias, comparability
- Working with teachers on standard setting
- Adjusting district assessments in the online platform when necessary K-5. Providing support for lead teachers to adjust district assessments in the online platform when necessary 6-12.
- Scheduling district assessment for K-5. Providing support for lead teachers 6-12 to schedule district assessments
- Work with the Assistant Superintendent to monitor and analyze District Assessment System Data to monitor and analyze data from District Assessments, FastBridge, WY-TOPP, and other data points.
- Work with the Assistant Superintendent to lead the development and deployment of District Curriculum Units by:
- Providing leadership for District K-12 Curriculum Alignment Teams.
- Working with teachers to develop District Units of Instruction on an online platform.
- Working with teachers to assure that Unit Deployment and Validation processes are followed.
- Working with teachers to determine pacing of District Units of Instruction.
- Collaborate with the K-12 Instructional Coaching team and building administrators to ensure alignment of curriculum, assessment and instruction content and practices.
- Collaborate effectively across the district to further the Vision and Mission of the district
- Provides coaching as needed across buildings and content areas by:
- Supporting new staff induction
- Supporting lesson planning, classroom management and organization
- Supporting the use of evidence based instructional strategies
- Supporting understanding of content and District Units of Instruction
- Supporting understanding and use of formative and summative assessment to drive instruction and MTSS planning.
- Plan and deliver professional development across the district by:
- Providing training for paraprofessionals
- Providing training on evidence based instructional practices
- Providing training on accessing District Units of Instruction and District Assessments
- Provide training on understanding content
- Provide training on program based Tiered Interventions as necessary.
- Provides training on Tier I common resources.
- Other duties as assigned.

SALARY SCHEDULE
This position will be paid according to the approved Certified Professional Salary Schedule.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Teacher School Year Calendar 15, unless otherwise assigned by supervisor.
