What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Field Technician/Project Manager position at Fremont Environmental Inc.?
Our organization is seeking an Environmental Field Technician or Project Manager who is responsible for conducting site inspections at oil and gas facilities that are being decommissioned. The technician will collect soil and groundwater samples at these sites to determine if the site has been contaminated by historical operations. Information from the site inspection and laboratory analysis will be uploaded using MS Office software.
Field work represents approximately 70% of the workload; the other 30% will be accomplished at the technician’s home office. Most of the field work will take place in Weld County, Colorado and requires driving between sites. Set times to meet roustabout crews are included, but most of the work is on a flexible time schedule that the technician can accommodate.
The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree in geology, environmental science, engineering or a related field. Also, 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training is preferred.
Candidate must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening test and have a clean driving record since a company vehicle will be provided.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct limited site investigations at decommissioned oil wells and related facilities using checklists.
- Operate and maintain soil and groundwater remediation equipment, generators, and solar-powered equipment.
- Collect quarterly groundwater samples from monitoring wells.
- Work collaboratively with other field and office staff to schedule work.
- Document field collected information and upload using MS Office software.
