PURPOSE: The primary purpose of this position is to assist Fremont Federal Credit Union in delivering the Best Advice, Best Service, and Best Products to promote healthy financial living. To accomplish this effort, this position must deliver outstanding service to internal team members in alignment with our established Service Standards. The Business Process Writer will produce effective written documentation of key FFCU procedures and guidelines. With the support of the VP Business Process Transformation, this position will work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) and other internal stakeholders to analyze, recommend, author, and deliver high-quality documentation such as procedures, manuals, job aids, and forms to help ensure a consistent end-user experience for all FFCU employees. The employee will be responsible for translating complex information into clear, concise documentation by creating comprehensive and clear procedural/content instructions that align with our company’s standards and requirements.Writing skills will be invaluable in creating explicit documentation, helping staff understand both the overview and the details of various operational procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Analyze business processes to determine documentation requirements.
2. Validate and test new software/systems, develop training materials, and establish test scripts for user acceptance.
3. Gather information through research, SME interviews, source documents, and review of existing documentation.
4. Works closely with our leadership team to understand our business processes and document internal controls.
5. Write various types of clear and concise documentation, such as operation procedures, manuals, job aids, forms, and reference guides that comply with FFCU standards to assist team members in their day-to-day operations.
6. Perform regular assessments on the effectiveness of the documents produced.
7. Manage regular reviews with SMEs to maintain accuracy and completeness of documents.
8. Update, edit, and improve existing documents based on current FFCU writing standards, quality, and style guidelines.
9. Edit, standardize or revise materials prepared by others. Convert the materials into current templates when necessary.
10. Ensure that procedures are written in a user-friendly format and provide clear guidance to team members.
11. Participate in project teams and make recommendations on the types of documents and information necessary to achieve business goals.
12. Ensure procedural documentation complies with the company’s policies.
13. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify process improvement opportunities and make recommend changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
14. Proficient in handling multiple projects and tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
15. Confident communicator, able to simplify and effectively share complicated information, and positively impacts the team and company through their understanding of procedural clarity.
16. Strong understanding of the importance of consistency and compliance in procedural design.
17. Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
18. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Preferred Experience
High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s or associate degree in Technical Writing, English, Communication, or a related field preferred. Experience in working directly or indirectly with financial operations/customer service teams preferred.

Working Conditions
Work is performed primarily indoors with some potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to electronics work. May require periodic travel between branches. There is exposure to potentially hazardous conditions such as robbery. Employees are to receive detailed instructions and procedures to follow to minimize risk.
