Qualifications
Fremont RE-2 School District Special Education teachers work under the direction of Building Principals and the Director of Special Education. Special Education teachers develop and write Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). They provide specialized instruction to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities based upon goals mutually developed in IEPs. They evaluate and assess student progress against instructional objectives/goals. They use data to drive instructional practices and improve outcomes for the students they serve. Special Education teachers follow State mandated due process procedures and function as the IEP Manager to assigned students. Special Education teachers are knowledgeable in a variety of content areas. They establish safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environments for students. Special Education teachers demonstrate professionalism through ethical conduct, reflection, and leadership. They build strong relationships with families, students, and colleagues.
Salary And Benefits
- CDE License to teach Special Education with any or all Special Education Endorsements
- Experience in working with students that have learning and/or physical disabilities
- Successful completion of all mandated criminal background screenings and fingerprinting as required.
- Must be able to develop IEP goals/objectives and behavioral plans
- Manage students with disabilities
- Supervise students in resource rooms or in the inclusion model
- Collaborate with general special education staff
- Must communicate effectively using oral and written language
- Assist with Response to Intervention
- Demonstrate skills in literacy instructional strategies including diagnosis and prescription of appropriate interventions and supports
- Must be trained in or willing to be trained in a method of crisis management and assume a crisis team leadership role.

Salary And Benefits
- 161 Day Contract
- 8.5 Hour Workday - 4 Day School Week
- Salary according to District approved Salary Schedule - Certified Teacher
- District will accept up to twenty (20) years of experience
- District contribution toward benefit package valued at $4,944 annually to include Health, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance
- Leave days according to District Policy
