QUALIFICATIONS:
- Illinois Professional Educator License;
- Art Endorsement
POSITION SUMMARY:
The 3rd-5th Grade Art Teacher is responsible for teaching students knowledge and skills in art, including crafts, drawing, painting, lettering, and art history, aligned with Illinois Performance Descriptors and State Standards. The teacher fosters an appreciation of art and guides students in developing creativity and aesthetic understanding through engaging lessons.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach and demonstrate artistic techniques in various media.
- Create balanced instructional plans with time for practice, demonstration, and critique.
- Maintain high standards of classroom behavior for a productive learning environment.
- Instruct on proper care and use of tools and materials, while organizing and managing resources efficiently.
- Encourage student growth and celebrate artistic accomplishments through displays and exhibitions.
- Employ diverse instructional techniques to align with district goals and curriculum objectives.
- Assess student progress and provide meaningful feedback.
- Ensure a safe environment for all students and maintain professional growth through ongoing learning and collaboration.
Additional Duties:
- Organize art exhibits to showcase student work.
- Attend meetings and contribute to staff committees.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Principal.
