Position Description
Summary: French International summer camp assistants are responsible for assisting instructors in the supervision and implementation of lessons and instructional plans in a learning environment that encourages students to fulfill their personal potential in a summer camp environment. Summer camps at FI will run from June 23rd - August 1st.
Pay: Starting at $24/hr
Essential Responsibilities/Activities:
- Participate as a summer camp teacher assistant in the activities of the school in ways that contribute to the attainment of its mission.
- Assist the Instructor in the implementation of instructional plans for the student group or groups assigned as directed by the summer camp coordinator.
- Assist in instructing all campers in a manner that will enable each instructor to perform to the best of their ability.
- Maintain complete and accurate records of students' attendance in each class, and communicate this information to parents and/or school administrators as required.
- Report concerns immediately to the instructor about a child's safety, performance, or behavior. If the instructor is not available, then to any supervisor.
- Remain aware of and observe all school policies and regulations, administrative procedures, and contractual agreements as they pertain to this position.
- Provide at all times appropriate supervision for the students attending French International Summer Camps whether on or off campus.
- Be aware of and maintain the highest standards of professional conduct in performance of the French International summer camp assistant role.
- Accept and carry out occasional additional responsibilities assigned by summer camp leadership.
Minimum Requirements: Current state of Oregon Criminal Background Registry (CBR) enrollment, experience/expertise in summer camp class content subject matter, experience working with children in a school setting, mobility sufficient to assure the safety of children.
Preferred Qualifications: ability to communicate in French.
