Shipping Clerk
Historic French Lake Auto Parts, Inc. has been a leader in the automotive recycling industry for over 65 years. Our inventory is always expanding and the amount of scrap we process is always growing. Due to the continued growth in our company, we are looking to add to our team.
Shipping and Receiving Responsibilities:
- Obtain and process product orders for shipment.
- Receive returned merchandise and assist with the return process.
- Work Independently if needed at times and capable of prioritizing tasks.
- Manage the shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies.
- Collaborates and communicates with customer service representatives, service providers, and others involved in the shipment and receipt of products.
- Track, trace, and update the status of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Troubleshoot shipping issues and customer complaints that arise and work to solve them efficiently and timely.
- Oversee and maintain the freight budget by making changes to shipments/boxes to ensure the budget is followed.
- Use critical thinking to find the best shipping methods based on the part types, boxes available and carriers available.
- Promptly unload trucks and deliveries for sorting and stocking receivables.
- Engage with vendors and drivers with a positive attitude.
- Place merchandise in a warehouse or storage facility by packaging, lifting items as necessary, operating forklifts and pallet jacks for large goods.
Shipping and Receiving Qualifications/Skills:
- Scanning, sorting, organizing incoming and outgoing stock.
- Receiving, stocking, and stacking.
- Pulling, packing, and loading.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong sense of time organization and urgency.
- Able to work independently and within a team.
- Microsoft Office experience.
Basic automobile knowledge is helpful. Basic knowledge of computers, multi-line telephones, fax machines and general office equipment also helpful. Pay based on experience.

Minimum Requirements:
- Good attendance history.
- Self-starter and ability to multitask.
- Willingness to learn.
- General automotive knowledge.
- Microsoft Office experience.
- General Shipping and Receiving knowledge
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift 50-100 pounds with assistance.
- This job includes bending, lifting, pulling, packaging, and maneuvering at times large parts and orders.

Education, Experience and Licensing Requirements
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid Driver’s License.
