Responsibilities for this Position
- Provides attentive and friendly service to customers.
- Takes orders from customers, bar waiter/waitress, and service personnel.
- Mixes ingredients such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
- Serves wine and draught or bottled beer.
- Collects money for drinks served.
- Operates, balances and reconciles cash till and POS sales.
- Orders or requisitions liquors and supplies.
- Arranges bottles and glasses to make attractive display.
- Slices and pits fruit for garnishing drinks.
- Prepares appetizers such as pickles, cheese, and cold meats.
- Replenishes bar snacks such as chips, pretzels, and nuts.
- Monitors consumption of alcohol by guests.
- Duties, responsibilities, requirements and expectations pertaining to this job are subject to change as needed.
- Hours are determined by 24-hour schedule and subject to change.
- Performs other reasonable duties as requested by Management.
- Must be a citizen of this country or possess a valid work permit.
- One year certificate from college or technical school or 4 years current related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age or older upon employment.
- Must possess a valid employee alcohol permit.
- Must be able to identify and resolve problems under pressure conditions.
- Must possess excellent communication skills.
- Must be able to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees and customers.
- Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
- Must be hands-on.
- Must always present a hospitality mentality--warm and generous.
- Must always ensure a teamwork environment.
- Must be willing to work a variety of day/night and weekend shifts.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English.
- Requires strong organizational skills.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Able to be on your feet for long periods of time.
- Excellent people skills.
- Must meet grooming standards.
