What are the responsibilities and job description for the Interventionist - French Middle School position at French Middle School?
Reports to: Principal
Purpose: Interventionist will work with teachers & students in areas of reading, math, and student engagement as a tier 2 intervention. Focus will be analyzing data to determine groups of students in need of academic or behavioral intervention. In addition, interventionist will collaborate appropriate intervention strategies and work alongside teachers to implement intervention strategies with students.
Qualifications:
- Meet requirements of a Kansas Teaching License
- Knowledge of the Common Core Standards, intervention strategies, assessments and intervention resources
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, school personnel and parents
- ESOL endorsement preferred
Physical and Emotional Requirements: Speaking, hearing, visual, reading, writing, word processing, mobility, consistency of temperament, ability to problem solve and work in stress providing environments.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Analyze and use data to support small group instruction for both core instruction and intervention;
- Prepare and deliver targeted instruction in a small group, individual, and/or classroom setting;
- Deliver and use assessment results to diagnose areas of deficit and make instructional decisions that address students’ weaknesses;
- Use research based strategies that meet students’ learning needs and support core instruction;
- Coordinate planning and communicate students’ performance with teachers, math coach, principal;
- Use district-approved instructional resources, which includes both primary and supplemental resources;
- Monitor and maintain accurate records for reporting student progress to teachers and parents;
- Assist in the assigning and scheduling of students;
- Support building leadership with implementation of School Improvement.
Terms of Employment: 9 months; salary and work year to be determined by the Board of Education.
Evaluation: Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the board policy on evaluation of Certified Personnel.
