Position Summary : We are seeking an experienced Machinist to join our team on 1st shift. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating manual and / or CNC machines, including lathes, mills, grinders, and machining centers. This role requires a deep understanding of machine shop theory, shop mathematics, material maintainability, and layout techniques.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Operate various machine tools to machine parts from start to finish.
- Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances.
- Verify dimensions and finishes using inspection equipment (e.g., micrometers, height gauges, and gauge blocks).
- Select, align, and secure fixtures, tools, and materials for machining.
- Follow setup requirements and operation sequences outlined on routers.
- Perform first-piece inspection and collaborate with the quality department for approval.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including assisting with machine maintenance and repair.
- Work with manufacturing engineering and quality teams to address and improve processes or quality concerns.
- Enhance efficiency and productivity using lean methods and participating in continuous improvement activities.
