Location : Piqua, Ohio
Position Summary : We are seeking a Project Engineer to lead the mechanical design of large hydraulic press systems and associated subsystems . This role involves developing complex mechanical systems and subsystems, including :
- Vacuume, pneumatic, and hydraulic components
- Process heating and cooling systems
- Automation for material handling
The Project Engineer will use SolidWorks to create 3D models, generate detailed manufacturing drawings, and develop bills of materials. This position requires close collaboration with sales engineers, electrical engineers, manufacturing teams, vendors, and customers to take designs from concept to completion
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Design and develop custom, heavy-duty industrial machinery with a focus on large hydraulic press systems and associated subsystems .Generate accurate 3D models, detailed drawings, and bills of material.Provide engineering support to sales, manufacturing, and customer service teams.Optimize designs for cost reduction, performance improvement, and manufacturability.Assist customers with installation, startup, and troubleshooting of equipment.Ensure project timelines and budgets are met.Maintain compliance with ISO 9001 quality standards.Travel occasionally (1–7 days) for customer or supplier site visits.Qualifications and Experience :
5 years of experience in mechanical design of large capital equipment (hydraulic presses, screw presses, or similar heavy machinery).Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred.Strong knowledge of hydraulic design .Experience with industrial automation and process equipment .Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality standards.Skills and Abilities :
Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and mechanical design.Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, including strength of materials, thermodynamics, and heat transfer.Ability to analyze complex mechanical systems and read technical drawings.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Excellent verbal and written communication for collaborating with cross-functional teams, customers, and suppliers.Strong mathematical skills (geometry, trigonometry, applied engineering calculations).AAP / EEO Statement : French Oil Mill Machinery Co. is an equal opportunity employer.
