What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grain Originator position at Frenchman Valley Coop?
FVC Grain Originator Job Summary: To provide quality customer service, increase grain volume and maximize cooperative profitability through the efficient operation and utilization of grain facilities, equipment and programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for grain origination in a specific area while retaining current customers and generating new customers.
2. Settles grain purchased from customers, reviews liens, writes checks and/or makes deferred contracts.
3. Makes regular producer sales contacts on the farm and by phone.
4. Determines the daily off the farm grain bid.
5. Completes detailed weekly sales call reports.
6. Negotiates grain contracts with producers.
7. May assist with elevator operations when necessary.
8. Responsible for developing a producer database.
9. Coordinates off farm settlements and contracts.
10. Responsible for the coordination of freight for off the farm shipments.
11. Administrates the commercial feedlot program.
12. Responsible to learn all areas of the cooperative grain division and its functions.
13. Stays current on new technologies related to grain marketing.
14. Assist with and conduct patron educational meetings.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $52,000.00 per year
