Sr. Mechanical Engineer/Designer
Job Description:
Mechanical engineering analyst of high-reliability electro-mechanical packaging of precision RF electronics from small units to complex multi-units for both commercial and aerospace (Hi-Reliability) systems.
Educational and Required Skills:
Candidate will have to work both independently and on interdisciplinary teams to solve design and manufacturing issues for satellite sub-systems. Experience with military specifications (MIL-STD-810 and -880) as they apply to board and box-level products is a plus.
Knowledge of 3D Mechanical Design Software (AutoCad REV 2022, AutoCad Inventor 2022 and Autodesk Vault preferred)
Education and Required Skills: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent. Strong understanding of shock and vibration testing. 3-5 years experience preferred. ANSYS V11 and Inventor Autodesk 2010 preferred
This individual must be team oriented with good communication skills and able to design being aware of the needs of the customer/engineering and manufacturing. A broad understanding of the physical problems of building the equipment (real knowledge of the tools used in manufacturing of the hardware as well as, weight vs. strength trade offs.
The candidate must be able to do his own drafting/dimensioning and tolerance analysis. Knowledge of GDT is preferred.
