Summary
Responsible for cleaning and prep of all press parts including cylinders, carts, and all other ink and adhesive parts. Candidates must strive for high quality cleaning standards, as this function has direct effect on machine efficiency and quality. Candidates must be willing to cross train in make ready and washroom duties.
Responsibilities
- Clean parts through use of parts washer, soak tanks and hand tools.
- Ensure good pass-down at shift change.
- Complete job set-ups and changeovers.
- Perform PM on machine parts.
- Retrieve and prepare cylinders/carts for upcoming jobs on gravure presses
- Cleaning, inspection and blasting of rotogravure cylinders
- Fork truck certification is required
- Assist in press changeovers as part of the ‘pit crew’
- Report all safety related problems, accidents and emergency maintenance to immediate supervisor.
- Troubleshoot problems.
- Trash removal.
- Observes plant safety rules.
- Maintain and keep equipment and/or work area in an orderly manner.
- Responsible for the training of new hires and incumbent employees.
- Perform other related work as required.
General Qualifications
- Ability to operate parts washer and cylinder cleaning equipment
- Use of hand tools, such as wrenches, screwdrivers, tape measures, etc.
- Basic computer skills
