Sanitation Manager
The Sanitation Manager at Fresca is responsible for overseeing the cleanliness and sanitation of the entire production facility. This includes ensuring that all food safety regulations, quality standards, and cleanliness protocols are strictly adhered to to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. The Sanitation Manager will lead a team of sanitation workers, develop cleaning schedules, manage cleaning supplies and equipment, and ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise Sanitation Team: Lead, train, and manage sanitation staff to ensure proper cleaning procedures and schedules are followed.
- Cleaning and Sanitation Procedures: Develop, implement, and monitor sanitation protocols to ensure all food safety standards are met, including proper sanitation of equipment, production lines, floors, walls, and restrooms.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the facility complies with all relevant health and safety regulations, including FDA, USDA, and local health department standards. Perform regular audits and inspections of all areas to ensure compliance.
- Food Safety: Work closely with the Quality Control team to ensure sanitation practices support food safety and prevent cross-contamination.
- Maintenance of Equipment: Oversee the proper cleaning, maintenance, and storage of sanitation equipment, such as pressure washers, scrubbers, and other machinery.
- Inventory Management: Manage sanitation supplies and chemicals, ensuring that inventory is always stocked and that materials are used appropriately according to safety guidelines.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, audits, and inspections. Prepare reports for management detailing the results of sanitation practices and areas for improvement.
- Training & Development: Provide ongoing training for sanitation staff on proper cleaning techniques, safety practices, and food safety requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Implement and monitor continuous improvement initiatives to improve sanitation processes and reduce the risk of contamination.
- Emergency Response: Respond to sanitation emergencies, ensuring a rapid resolution that doesn’t impact production.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Associate's or bachelor’s degree in food safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a food manufacturing or similar environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations (FDA, USDA, HACCP, etc.) and sanitation procedures in food manufacturing.
- Ability to read and understand safety data sheets (SDS) for chemicals and sanitation products.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work with a variety of cleaning chemicals and equipment safely.
- Strong communication and leadership skills to manage a team effectively.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Familiarity with food safety certifications such as SQF, BRC, or GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) is a plus.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to regularly lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, reach, and move around machinery for extended periods of time
- Ability to work in varying working climates, i.e., noise, temperatures may vary from hot to very cold

Salary Range:
Base Pay: $75,000 - $95,000 per year depending on experience
