Job Overview
Essential Job Functions:
- Sorting and Classifying: Sort and classify produce based on size, color, and quality, ensuring only premium fruits proceed to packaging.
- Packing: Accurately pack sorted produce, maintaining specified weight and packaging standards.
- Quality Control: Inspect produce for defects or damage, discarding any substandard items to uphold product quality.
- Equipment Operation: Operate sorting and packing machinery, performing routine checks to ensure optimal functionality.
- Sanitation: Maintain a clean and sanitized workstation, adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively with team members to meet daily production targets and deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience in a production setting, particularly in citrus sorting and packing, is a plus.
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify quality issues.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of food safety standards.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
- Basic math skills
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Comfortable working in a refrigerated environment.
Additional Information:
- This position may require working in shifts, including weekends and holidays, depending on production schedules.
