Fresenius Kabi is hiring a Vice President, Market Access.


The primary responsibilities for this role will be to lead the Biopharma market access team, monitor the environment and pertinent healthcare trends, and share the impact upon payer insights and strategies. This role will work with key stakeholders on the deployment of appropriate tactics and monitoring of critical success factors to ensure successful outcomes against the market access and commercial strategies.


This position is heavily reliant on interacting with key stakeholders across multiple Fresenius Kabi US and Global business functions. The Vice President must practice proactive management, drive collaboration and be a positive team leader. The individual must be able to successfully facilitate and complete projects in a matrix environment to facilitate business decisions that generate the greatest revenue and profit return.


Responsibilities


  • Seeking an innovative leader who can grow the biosimilar market access division in a highly competitive market.
  • Lead a department responsible for strategic market access operations for IDN/GPO contracts, Wholesaler, specialty pharmacy, and payer account management.
  • Implement and expand market access patient support programs, market access marketing materials, and development programs for medical and pharmacy dispense biosimilars. This will also require managing a team who will manage various vendors and consulting partners.
  • Must have strong knowledge of contract clauses, the ability to negotiate contracts, and lead the negotiation of biosimilar payer financials cost savings in a highly competitive market.
  • Ensure appropriate HCPCS code assignment to maximize patient access and reimbursement strategies in accordance with compliance with local and US regulations.
  • Provide insights and track the bid needs of all types of payers and IDN/GPO in key Fresenius Kabi customer base to develop profitable channel and market access strategies. Deliver clear recommendations relating to payer strategy, pricing and reimbursement, evidence generation, data collection and value proposition.
  • Maintain optimal pricing to ensuring profitability of products; Seek new opportunities with the current portfolio to drive product adoption that augment overall corporate strategy. Support specified functions in their information needs and commercial planning regarding access strategies.
  • Interface with Marketing, Pricing, Contracting, Legal, Finance, and other functional areas to ensure that key information is incorporated in the Market Access decision-making process.
  • Work collaboratively with commercial team to set strategic imperatives and monitor progress against those imperatives; Drive strategic projects identified as critical to the business; i.e. implement strategy development.
  • Identify solutions to overcome challenges and deliver desired business outcomes. Contribute to the payer value and product strategy where the evidence generation plan may be improved and optimized to facilitate informed decision making including comparative effectiveness, pricing, reimbursement and market access negotiations, while ensuring compliance to internal and external policies and regulations.
  • Generate and synthesize global and local payer insights; Evaluate the pricing and market access potential for life cycle indications and assess the impact of the life cycle strategy on the overall value of each brand.
  • Assess the consequences of pricing and business decisions while weighing multiple factors (i.e. cost- benefit analysis, market competitive trends, and customer buying patterns); identify conclusions, opportunities and risks to provide appropriate recommendations.


Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
  • Minimum 15 years related work experience, including 5 years in market access and commercial pharma.
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry or hospital/pharmacy products sales and marketing preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of management experience required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Superior interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.
  • Microsoft Excel at the advanced level experience required, including superior analytical and critical thinking skills with ability to make recommendations based on analysis.
  • Able to manage and prioritize multiple complex projects with demonstrated time management skills.
  • Effective project manager, clear communicator with matrix leadership capabilities; understanding of the applicable legal and regulatory environment.
  • Must be able to develop and lead highly productive teams with a focus on individual accountability.
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally.


Additional Information


Salary Range: $250,000 - $285,000

Position is eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan with a target of 30% of the base salary. Position is also eligible to participate in our medium-term incentive plan.


Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to experience level, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
