About this role: At Fresenius Medical Care, we seek a dedicated Clinical Manager to lead our clinical operations and ensure the delivery of quality patient care. As the facility leader, you will be part of a close-knit team responsible for developing and implementing unique care plans and providing dialysis treatment to patients facing end-stage renal disease or chronic kidney disease.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage clinic operations, including costs, processes, staffing, and quality standards.
  2. Provide leadership, coaching, and development plans for direct reports.
  3. Partner with internal Human Resources, Quality, and Technical Services departments.
  4. Collaborate with or function as the Home Therapies Program Manager to oversee the facility's Home Therapies Program.
  5. Maintain integrity of medical and operations records and comply with data collections and auditing activities.
  6. Be accountable for completion of the Annual Standing Order Review and Internal Classification of Disease (ICD) coding.
  7. Manage clinic financials, including efficient supply utilization and regular profit/loss review.
  8. Be responsible for required network reporting and on-site state or federal surveys.

Patient Care Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate all aspects of patient care with staff members from admission through discharge.
  2. Ensure patient education regarding quality measures, transplant options, modality awareness, and access care.
  3. Act as a resource for patients and families addressing concerns and questions.
  4. Be accountable for timely completion of patient care assessments and care plans.
  5. Manage patient schedules to ensure facility efficiency and develop action plans for missed treatments.
  6. Plan, coordinate, and validate patient eligibility for treatment.
  7. Report changes in patient status regarding clinical, insurance, or travel and transportation issues.

Staff Responsibilities:

  1. Participate in new team member selection and hiring, ensuring completion of new hiring orientation and mandatory trainings.
  2. Be responsible for patient care employees completing training courses and licensures/certifications.
  3. Provide support for clinical staff members at regular intervals, encouraging professional growth.
  4. Maintain current knowledge regarding company benefits, policies, procedures, and processes.
  5. Complete employee evaluations and establish annual goals.
  6. Document disciplinary actions and confer with the clinic Director of Operations and Human Resources when needed.
  7. Manage staff scheduling and payroll.

Physician Responsibilities:

  1. Facilitate physician privileges application process and compliance with Fresenius Medical Care Medical Staff By-Laws.
  2. Be responsible for strong physician relationships and ensure regular effective communication.
  3. Participate in Governing Body, an interdisciplinary team governing policies.

Education and Required Credentials:

  1. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (RN).
  3. Current appropriate state licensure.

Experience and Skills:

  1. Required:
    • 6 years business operations experience in a healthcare facility.
    • 12 months experience in clinical nursing.
    • 6 months chronic or acute dialysis nursing experience.
    • Successfully pass the Ishihara Color Blind Test.
  2. Preferred but not required:
    • 3 years supervisory or project/program management experience.
    • Med/surg or ICU/CCU experience.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  1. Day-to-day work includes desk and personal computer work and interaction with patients, facility staff, and physicians.
  2. Position may require travel between assigned facilities and various locations within the community and/or travel to regional, business unit, and corporate meetings may be required.
  3. The work environment is characteristic of a healthcare facility with air temperature control and moderate noise levels.
  4. May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases/materials.
  5. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  6. The position provides direct patient care that regularly involves heavy lifting, moving of patients, and assisting with ambulation. Equipment aids and/or coworkers may provide assistance.
