The Key Accounts Manager is the face of Fresh City Kitchen for established corporate clients. You are responsible for delivering killer hospitality to create raving fans, ultimately driving increased revenue and word-of-mouth referrals. They are the voice and front line for our clients' day-to-day needs and requests.
You’ll manage client orders and ensure their expectations are met and exceeded on every level – from menu building through delivery details, presentation, and meeting the client’s budget expectations. You’ll be responsible for maximizing the value of Fresh City Kitchen’s client relationships. Your primary performance indicators are long-term retention and account growth. In conjunction with these responsibilities, you are responsible for developing deep product knowledge and ensuring excellent internal communication daily.
Major Role Responsibilities
RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT
- Develops a frequent client base and is hard-wired to ensure the return of every guest through the delivery of killer hospitality.
- Spends part of every day getting to know clients' preferences and personalities. Finds out what is important to them, what they like and don’t like, in addition to learning about their position and the company as a whole.
- Quickly builds trust and rapport with corporate clients and their colleagues to firmly plant Fresh City as a vendor they can lean on to serve them.
- Captures and relays client feedback internally to ensure we are exceeding clients' needs at every point in the process.
- Participates in developing creative ways to increase client accounts through team collaboration and brainstorming.
- Actively seeks out new contacts within companies by setting up meetings and tastings.
- Offers samples of new menu items to key accounts.
- Consistent, methodical weekly outreach to stay connected with key accounts.
- Checking in with inactive client accounts.
- Responding to incoming requests.
- Preparing proposals / special menus.
- Execute event sales and planning for full service catering functions as needed.
CLIENT ORDER MANAGEMENT
- Facilitate every client order with a consultative approach, offering a complete meal planning solution, and applying extensive knowledge of Fresh City’s menu options.
- Manage all aspects of each order, ensuring the culinary and operations teams are well-informed and prepared to execute at a high level.
- Confirm all fine details of catering orders.
- Follow up with clients daily to ensure needs were met and find additional business opportunities.
- Resolve all problems, exceptions, and issues to ensure clients are satisfied and would not hesitate to order from Fresh City again.
ADMINISTRATION
- Create a weekly sales plan to reach sales goals for monthly and quarterly periods.
- Maintain all menu circulation and accessibility within client base.
- Ensure Hubspot CRM platform is up to date with the necessary information for the best service to our clients.
- Participating in weekly sales coaching meetings.
- Labels and organizes orders with the appropriate allergy and dietary information to ensure guests know what common allergens may be present in their meals.
COMMUNICATION
- Outstanding daily communication with all clients and our internal operations/culinary teams.
- Loves talking to clients daily via Zoom, phone calls, and emails.
- Possesses a natural feel for the absolute right tone of communication when answering calls or responding to clients via email. Shows the ability to adjust to the context of a situation with the appropriate wording and empathy.
- You are the company spokesperson emphasizing company goals, philosophies, values, etc. to all clients.
- Confident, kind, and honest. Never rude, pushy, or condescending. Not scared to ask clients and team members for clarification to ensure accuracy.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Strong computer skills. Google applications, catering or POS software, Hubspot, Slack. Possesses the general ability to learn new software quickly and with proficiency.
- Has skills to obtain and understand all menu options and product offerings with detailed knowledge while understanding nuanced dietary and allergen needs.
- Understanding of our accounting and invoicing systems to answer questions and provide documentation for clients quickly and accurately.

SCHEDULE
- This is a Monday Through Friday in-office position at our Brighton, MA location for at least 60-90 days. Hybrid opportunity once full ramp-up is completed.
- Flexibility in start and end times exists to accommodate personal and family needs.
- This is a hybrid and in-field sales opportunity for the right candidate who can prove excellent results wherever they’re working from!
Salary : $80,000 - $90,000
