What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Manager position at Fresh Del Monte Produce Inc?
Purpose of Position :
This position is responsible for fostering and enhancing internal / external, sales performance, customer service and achieving revenue and margin goals and objectives. In this role, the incumbent will require to give the company a dominant presence within the sales area. The individual will also collaborate with other departments to promote company’s product line and ensure continued satisfaction and success.
Accountabilities :
- Execute sales strategy by forecasting future demands, volume and revenue projections to ensure compliance of the objectives.
- Understands and manages the full Mann Packing portfolio and review accounts receivables to achieve minimal days outstanding on payments.
- Conduct and report weekly market checks / quality report to customers
- Provide a weekly market update to report on market conditions, competitive activity and sales performance and initiatives.
- Publish to supervisor on a weekly basis.
- Work with Sales Vice President, Sales Director and Business Analysis Manager to develop annual sales plan for the region / category.
- Manage profitability for assigned categories consistent with the overall business plan and strategic direction for DMFP North America.
- Attend all applicable region food shows, national shows, where directed.
- Special projects as assigned.
- Manage the assigned foodservice customer base within the region, ensuring flawless execution of the overall channel strategic plans
- Deliver on all sales budget, volume and revenue objectives, ensuring targets are met while controlling sales initiatives, in order to achieve budgeted goals.
- Expand sales opportunities within the region by developing and maintaining relationships with existing and new customers, to comply with and increase sales goals.
- Manage the day-to-day contact and resolve customer issues by addressing potential problems and suggesting solutions to assure customer satisfaction.
- Lead the project management process for all new customer on-boarding / new item set up.
- Participate / host internal TEAMs meetings, as needed, to resolve problems and foster solutions by providing insight into the business issues and needs.
- Build market intelligence, by analyzing market conditions as regards to : supply and demand, competitive pricing, competitive pressures, to identify new opportunities for growth.
- Participate in the negotiation process (RFP) and provide critical insight into pricing, competitive pressures, and volume with assigned customers to achieve sales objectives.
