What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Manager position at Fresh Del Monte?
Purpose of Position:
This role will be a key member of NA finance team and financial business partner for the business operations. This position will be responsible for overseen several functions/Processes on the NA Accounting department for assigned locations/processes within the region. In this role, the position will also be responsible for ensuring adherence to, and implementation of financial policies and procedures, transformation of finance processes and support as business partner the overall results of the region.
Accountabilities:
- Complete month end closings for the region and submit financial reporting to department Director.
- Perform and monitor financial controls, account reconciliations etc. to ensure a sound control environment
- Perform financial analysis regarding business performance.
- Be the accounting expert for the process assign and provide guidance to the business.
- Work closely with the NA Accounting management structure to help achieve regional financial goals including assisting with special higher-level projects as needed.
- Supervise the work assign by business process.
- Continuously monitor adherence to financial policies and procedures within assigned regions.
- Complete special projects as required.
- Ad Hoc reporting and analytical support
- Monitor, measure and refine KPIs, metrics and operational performance.
- Create processes to perform variance analysis such as Purchase Price Variance, Material Usage Variance, Efficiency Variance and Labor Rate Variance
- Assist in the completion of annual budgets and forecast.
- Supports Operations in preparing monthly business review meetings by helping to prepare explanations of variances to Forecast.
- Document controls, processes and procedures related to manufacturing accounting and ensure SOX compliance.
- Assist with and ensure successful quarterly and year end audits.
- Provide leadership and take accountability for identifying and driving process and systems improvements initiatives.
- Prepare ad hoc reporting and analyses and assist team with research on accounting questions.
- Complete special projects as required.
Minimum Skills Required:
- 4-year College Degree (Accounting, Business or similar) from an accredited institution.
- 8 years of experience in accounting or finance positions and at least 3 years of prior experience as Sr. Analyst or Sr Accountant or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (i.e. Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Knowledge of accounting updates.
- Good analytical and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills (i.e. oral and written).
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented and confidential environment.
Preferred:
- Certified Public Accountant License.
- Cost accounting experience.
- Experience with Oracle.
- Experience with SAP financials and related modules.
