What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Procurement Analyst position at Fresh Del Monte?
Purpose of Position:
This position will assist with sourcing all raw product material needs for fresh cut operations. In this role, will also manage documentation and processes associated with purchasing, sourcing, day to day ability to negotiate to meet profitability objectives.
Accountabilities:
- Assist with the purchase of raw products.
- Coordinate inventory levels and days’ supply of raw products with buyers and facilities.
- Assist buyers to work with suppliers, ensuring cost efficient purchases of quality products.
- Work with buyers and traffic department to secure cost efficient and reliable transportation of goods to facilities.
- Collaborate with sales, production and quality assurance to manage all of the above, and to remain consistent with facilities’ needs as related to production, quality and cost.
- Manage procurement documentation, review for accuracy, and resolve discrepancies: purchase orders, passing/confirmations, bill of lading (BOL), invoices, and inspections.
- Manage contract and purchasing files.
- Collaborate with Accounts Payable staff to ensure proficient invoice processing. Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies.
- Data Management and maintenance of item and vendor codes.
- Create, maintain, and distribute department reports.
- In conjunction with the management team, ensure all goals are met and/or exceeded, and all procurement costs are within budget.
- Work on other projects as assigned, including but not limited to, assisting corporate team with sourcing and contracting, when needed.
Minimum Skills Required:
- At least 2 to 3 years prior experience in a fresh produce, fast-paced environment, and/or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word).
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication (i.e. verbal and written) skills.
Preferred:
- Bi-lingual: English and Spanish
- 4 year degree in Business or Supply Chain/Procurement, from an accredited institution, and/or equivalent work experience in a related field.
