What are the responsibilities and job description for the BC Systems - Planner Ag Operations position at Fresh Express?
Summary: Raw Product is the harvest and procurement of raw agricultural products. An Ag Planner provides a plan and the support on how the crop is to be harvested to meet our cooling and shipping schedule. Ag Planner is a full-time year-round Salary position consisting of traveling Between California and Arizona.
Job Function Statements - Essential Functions:
- Ability to process all documents in both paper and electronic formats in a "real-time" environment.
- Ability to communicate with harvester and convey where to stage for the harvest and what area of the field they will harvest.
- Ability to work outdoors through all seasons and weather types including wind and rain, indoors under refrigerated conditions to 32F, wet, muddy, dusty, and noisy conditions.
- Drive up to 600 - 800 miles per day.
- Ability to climb trailers to evaluate quality of the harvest job.
- Ability to lift 40-50lbs produce boxes when weighing and inspecting.
- Ability to identify potential pest & diseases of all lettuce.
- Ability to keep consistent & accurate records.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual is required.
- Ability to monitor direct and indirect operations costs and compare to budgets
- Ability to workday, swing, or night shifts within a 7-day work week schedule.
- Full time positions are expected to travel throughout the year with the company's operations in California and Arizona.
Requirements:
- Ability to effectively use office equipment and systems to include but not be limited to, multi-line phones, voice mail, PC workstations with varying types of business software, copiers, fax, FedEx, etc.
- Ability to use portable scale and a produce knife.
- Keyboard Typing.
- Windows (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- AS400 PRMS.
- Must have a valid driving license.
- Consists of working with Procurement/Harvest and Cooling operations to meet daily product demand.
- Availability to work before and after hours do to Field and cooler operations needing Ag planners' assistance.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.
