JOB SUMMARY
Position in this perform work is related to design, fabrication, installation, maintenance, operation, inspection, and testing of a variety of control systems equipment including, but not limited to, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, computer, microprocessor and variable frequency drive, electro-mechanical, digital, and analog components used in process control systems; and perform other duties as required.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read and interpret analog equipment schematics, analog system network diagrams, plans, blueprints, and electrical wiring diagrams
- Inspects, tests, adjusts, and repairs electric, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic instruments and systems
- Tests accuracy of flowmeters, pressure gauges, temperature indicators, controllers, or detectors
- Traces out and tests electronic solid state and vacuum tube circuitry and components to locate defective parts in analog and digital, or protection, using test equipment, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
- Removes defective instruments from system, decontaminates, disassembles, and cleans instruments, and replaces defective parts, using hand tools.
- Redo panels wiring to be clean, label and organized,
- Reassembles instruments and replaces instruments in system, using hand tools
- Lubricates instruments and replaces defective wiring and tubing.
- Calibrates readings on instruments per standards and adjusts phasing and aligns stages to ensure accuracy of recording and indicating function
- Records calibrations made, parts and components used, and inventory of parts on hand
- Knowledge of PLC, troubleshooting to determine if failure is from a CPU, or network when is network ControlNet, Ethernet or Devicente
- Monitor systems in IFix (GEFANUC) or Intouch (WONDERWARE)
- Must be available for on call and weekend calls.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE (KSAs)
- Mechanical Knowledge:
- Public Safety and Security Knowledge: knowledge or relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions
- Broad knowledge of power plant operations
- Computers and Electronics Knowledge: knowledge of systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology.
- Skill in the Management of Personnel Resources: motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job
- Problem Sensitivity: ability to tell when something is wrong or likely to go wrong
- Be able to work 1st or 2nd shift as required
Candidate will be able to take a hands-on test
