What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Technician 1st Shift position at Fresh Express?
This is a fast-paced position heavily involved with the mathematical and technical areas. The QA Technician serves as an important supporting member of the Production Team.
DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITES
- Routine sampling and testing of Fresh Express product and materials throughout shift
- Ability to recognize, identify, document and communicate all analytical quality and food safety evaluations, processing checks, and out-of-spec samples
- Confirm adjustments are made to ensure compliance of specifications
- Recheck product following adjustments in order meet the highest quality expectations
- Support leadership in GMP compliance throughout the facility
- Other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL DEMAND
Employee is required to stand for prolonged periods of time (duration of the shift, 10 hours or more); perform repetitive motions throughout shift such as: push/pull/lift and move up to 25 pounds, bend continuously, & reach with hands and arms; occasionally crouch, kneel, stoop and/or crawl to pick up product. This position requires ability to climb stairs or step up onto a platform several times throughout the shift and keep up in a fast-passed environment. *The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This is a fast-passed manufacturing warehouse setting. Employee is routinely exposed to wet/cold conditions of roughly 34 degrees Fahrenheit. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud, which requires hearing protection.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must possess basic math skills
- Self-motivated individual who requires minimal supervision and direction
- Work in a respectful manner and be a team player
- Food industry or Manufacturing experience is a plus, but not necessary
- Steel toed shoes
- Available to work a Monday - Saturday schedule
- Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Polish is a plus
