What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Technician 1st Shift position at Fresh Express?
1st Shift 6:00am - 5:00pm
The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for monitoring and auditing all production processes, documenting findings hourly at start up and end of run/shift.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform hourly, start up and end of run/shift HACCP verifications on all wash lines, Organic or Conventional
- Perform hourly, start up and end of run/shift product evaluations in all production areas, Organic or Conventional
- Perform hourly, start up and end of run/shift HACCP verifications on Metal detectors on all production lines, Organic or Conventional
- Verify package integrity by performing seal checks
- Verify bags/trays weight checks
- Verify bags/trays code date and lot information is accurate and legible
- Collect shelf-life samples from each production run
- Document all HACCP deviations on appropriate forms
- Monitor and document GMP violations within facility
- Notify supervisor of any quality defects present or non-conforming products throughout the processes
- Assist QA management with Foreign Material inspections as needed
- Assist QA management with sample tests as needed
- Train in all areas available for assigned shift
- Perform other duties as assigned by QA management
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous quality experience preferred
- Must have a desire to achieve excellence in customer satisfaction, process, product quality, and reliability.
- Must be detail-oriented with respect to documentation and communication.
- Flexible and open to change
- Self-motivated and result oriented
- Positive team player
- Must be able to lift 35lbs using approved lifting techniques
- Must be able to be on feet for extended periods of time in cold, wet environments
