What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sanitation Supervisor position at Fresh Mark Incorporated?
The Fresh Mark facility in Massillon, Ohio, is currently accepting applications for a 3rd Shift Sanitation Supervisor.
The essential function of the Sanitation Supervisor is to provide leadership and direction to hourly personnel engaged in sanitizing our world class food production facility. Upon completion of orientation and on the job period training, the position will supervise the sanitation staff to achieve sanitation compliance with USDA and company food safety cleanliness guidelines.
Key Accountabilities
- Supervise, plan and coordinate all aspects of the sanitation processes and activities associated with the cleaning and sanitizing of the food processing facility and equipment for assigned area of responsibility
- Supervisory responsibility includes management of employee performance, discipline, development and recourse planning; establish, grow and maintain a responsible, motivated, contributory work culture
- Manage workforce scheduling, and employee placement to ensure the facility and company goals are successfully met or exceeded
- Lead the activities of sanitation employees in accordance with work instructions, USDA guidelines and Company policy to ensure timely completion
- Assess the effectiveness of the facilities equipment cleaning activities and perform regular inspections of essential sanitation functions; maintain all essential records for the Sanitation department and assigned area of responsibility
- Adhere to protocols, policies and procedures to achieve and maintain food safety ratings, monitor progress and take action to achieve them
- Lead the training and performance of assigned staff; implement job-related training to eliminate food safety risks; coach, mentor, motivate and supervise direct reports to maximize operational success
- Promote safety in the workplace; support and enforce the facility’s safety program and regulatory compliance in conjunction with the Safety Supervisor and the Director of Human Resources; actively participate in the Company’s safety committee and hold direct staff accountable for compliance to safe work practices
- Develop supportive relationships with Operations and other support staff (Quality, Distribution, Maintenance) to achieve results and maintain the highest standards for product safety and quality; participate in achieving or exceeding the company’s annual targeted operational objectives
- Partner with Human Resources to resolve employee relations concerns and to consistently administer disciplinary action when needed
- Ensure that sanitation inspection results data is furnished accurately and timely
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
- 2-4 years’ experience leading sanitation in a food facility
- Proficient computer skills, including MS Office
- Ability to work night 3rd shift and weekend overtime as required.
