What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Supervisor position at Fresh Mark Incorporated?
The Fresh Mark Cold Storage facility in Massillon, Ohio, is currently accepting applications for a 2nd Shift Shipping Supervisor.
The essential function of shipping supervisor is to oversee and coordinate daily warehouse activities such as receiving and storing goods, managing inventory levels, supervising staff, and securing the warehouse.
Functions and Responsibilities:
- Maintaining and ensuring the safety of all employees through training, enforcement of rules and compliance with all Fresh Mark Inc. policies and procedures.
- Maintaining a sound working relationship with bargaining unit employees.
- Driving departmental efficiencies and maximizing productivity.
- Monitoring and controlling inventory.
- Assuring effective communications.
- Controlling labor costs through effective manpower utilization.
- Monitoring machinery to maintain productivity and efficiencies.
- Monitoring product quality and flow to meet customer demands and requirements.
- Promoting and maintaining teamwork among employees.
- Conduct safety and department meetings for your staff.
Requirements:
- 5-7 years of warehouse experience or a bachelor’s degree
- Ambition to personally develop and quickly learn new processes
- Ability to work with and provide leadership to hourly personnel
- Ability to work any shift and both weekend and daily overtime as required
- Ability to work in a refrigerated environment
