What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Care Worker position at Fresh Start Family Services?
Fresh Start is seeking Youth Care Workers to work 20-40 hours per week in our Youth Care Division! Our agency has 20 years of experience providing quality foster care case management, shelter care, and mental health services to children and families in Southeastern Wisconsin. We are in need of candidates to work full-time, part-time, weekend and holidays. Youth Care Workers are responsible for supervising and managing the behavior of male clients ages 10 to 17. Youth Care Workers must be able to use appropriate behavior management techniques with a focus on trauma-informed care and culturally informed principles.
Minimum Qualifications: The successful candidate must have a high school diploma, be at least 21 years of age, and have one or more years of experience as a foster parent, institutional house-parent, or other verifiable experience related to caring for high-needs youth. In lieu of one year of experience, the successful candidate may have 24 hours of relevant training or an agreement to complete the training within one year of hire. Youth Care Workers must have a reliable vehicle, a valid WI driver's license, a good driving record, and car insurance. Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must.
Desired Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in social work or a related field.
Salary: $18.00 to $24.00/hour DOQ
