Responsibilities:
- Drive crew members to different job sites.
- Direct and participate in daily landscape production at assigned sites.
- Delegate tasks to trainees and assume responsibility for the correct completion of assignments.
- Landscape staff supervision: Supervising and directing your crew members.
- Practice safe driving habits .
- Train and supervise workers on tasks such as transplanting or pruning trees or shrubs, using equipment, or caring for turf.
- Follow all state and national safety regulations and standards.
- Accurately follow routes, maps, and directions.
- Use hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, or axes
- Operate vehicles or powered equipment, such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, snow blowers, chain-saws, electric clippers, sod cutters, or pruning saws
- Water lawns, trees, or plants, using portable sprinkler systems, hoses, or watering cans
- Prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges, using shears, pruners, or chainsaws
- Gather and remove litter
- Interact with customers in a professional and friendly manner
- Past experience as a landscaper/groundskeeper preferred
- Experience with the use of hand-held and power tools
- Must be able to climb ladders and stairs, comfortably lift 40 pounds repetitively, and work on your feet for long periods of time
- Willing to work in all weather elements.
