What are the responsibilities and job description for the Store Manager position at Fresh Stop?
JOB SUMMARY: Leads a store by implementing and managing business growth strategies in key areas to include talent management, customer service excellence, merchandising, financial analysis and optimization, internal/external compliance measures and risk mitigation, and vendor, community, and public relations. This role may be assigned to an existing store, newly acquired but established store, or to a newly identified store where significant analysis, planning and implementation is needed in all operational aspects to ensure successful development of the market share.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPOSNSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Maintain positive employee relations and morale by supervising employees and ensuring that Company policies and procedures are being followed and maintained.
- Recruit, interview, and hire employees; ensure that all aspects of the hiring process are completed, and that facility is properly staffed.
- Effectively train and develop all employees within the facility.
- Effectively manage labor hours through proper scheduling.
- Supervise coverage of shifts left vacant due to emergency or lack of personnel and fill as needed.
- Resolve employee relations problems and complaints in a timely manner; counsel and document employee performance issues; process employee terminations as necessary; follow through and communicate employee relations problems to the Territory Manager.
- Maximize profitability through sales enhancement, expense control, accurate reporting & documentation of all
- Ensure accurate daily accounting of all financial activities and completion of records using company back office system.
- Oversee daily bank deposits.
- Ensure prompt and exemplary customer service, safe conditions at the store, and employee supervision.
- Maintain a neat personal appearance in accordance with Company Uniform and Dress Code Policy.
- Effectively manage the store by directing sales promotions, implementing new programs and communicating to vendors, sales reps, and other appropriate personnel on marketing activities.
- Responsible for ordering and merchandising of all authorized merchandise by complying with inventory guidelines. Direct and control proper merchandising and follow-through on all sales promotions.
- Maintain a working relationship with all vendors; monitor and correct delivery procedures, ensure the accuracy of orders; and report any problems to Territory Manager.
- Ensure that all food and food preparation maintain quality standards and sanitation regulations.
- Ensure that adequate stock is maintained.
- Control inventory shrink within all corporate guidelines. Pursue inventory shortages or overages to a satisfactory conclusion.
- Ensure that safe conditions and a safe environment are maintained at all times.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for all store staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization policies & state, federal & local laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring & training employees; planning, assigning & directing work; appraising performance; reward & discipline of employees; addressing complaints & resolving problems.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Required to work 50 hours per week. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Effectively present information to customers, associate & management. Ability to read, analyze & interpret financial reports & legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from associates, customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community. Must be able to speak, read & write in the English language.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with & apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, & proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems & deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exits. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGULATIONS: Valid in-state Driver’s License with required auto insurance, acceptable motor vehicle report, and achieve and maintain the ServSafe Certification.
