The Claims Manager is responsible for promptly reporting and managing claims from workers' compensation, auto, property, and general liability. The candidate will be able to analyze mid-level claims to ensure accurate and timely reporting of claims within company standards and industry best practices. The right candidate will have a good understanding of the life of a claim from first notice of loss, investigation, loss valuation, reserving, and ultimate resolution for non-litigated and litigated claims. They can effectively communicate with key stakeholders, attorneys, adjusters, and other vendors. They will oversee the company's claims and work collaboratively with the various insurance carriers, adjusters, and FreshDirect management teams to move claims to resolution in a cost-effective manner. They will have good multi-tasking skills and be detail-oriented. They will be able to work with various claims systems and update claims timely to achieve desired business outcomes. They can effectively manage a small claims team to achieve desired results.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee the investigation and processing of workers' compensation, auto collision, property, and general liability claims.
- Operate as the lead point of contact for all claims and loss control matters specific to FreshDirect, LLC and UTF Trucking, collectively FreshDirect.
- Review claims to monitor reserves for accuracy with our adjusters and consultants.
- Maintain weekly, monthly, and yearly reporting, including internal metrics and OSHA logs.
- Maintain relationships and communication with carriers and clients.
- Manages the return-to-work program and works with management to strategically place injured workers.
- Provides complete claims managing service for all claims accounts, including but not limited to providing updates on the claim status to the broker and internal stakeholders.
- Responsible for data collection, analysis, and recommendations to underwriting.
- Documents, maintains, analyzes, and makes recommendations for improvement of claim management policies and procedures.
- Assist with challenging client requests or issue escalations as needed.
- Prepare reports on account status as needed.
- 5 years’ experience managing multi-state Workers' Compensation claims.
- Must have WC adjuster experience with a TPA or insurance carrier
- Bachelor’s degree
- Ability to contribute to a collaborative environment by consistently demonstrating teamwork, high motivation, positive behavior, and effort to achieve goals and objectives.
- Demonstrate well-organized and disciplined work habits.
- Exhibit clear, practical verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to actively listen, problem-solve, and communicate effectively with technical and business users.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
