Job Description : The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the strategic oversight and operational management of all maintenance activities within a large-scale food manufacturing and distribution plant spanning 650,000 square feet. This role requires advanced technical expertise, accountability for plant performance, and a commitment to continuous improvement in maintenance operations. The Maintenance Manager ensures compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards while managing a diverse range of systems, including HVAC, electrical, steam, chemical, conveyor, and forklift operations.
Salary Range - $92,460 - $112,000
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead the maintenance team in the execution of all maintenance activities, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of equipment and facilities across the plant.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance strategy that includes preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime and enhance production efficiency.
- Monitor and assess the condition of all plant systems, utilizing root cause analysis to address failures and implement effective corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with EPA, DOH, FDNY, DEP and DOB regulations and safety standards across all maintenance operations, fostering a culture of safety awareness within the team.
- Manage relationships with external vendors, contractors, and service providers, overseeing their activities on-site to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of maintenance equipment, plant equipment spare parts, and tools, assessing their condition and making recommendations for parts inventory levels, repairs and / or replacements as needed.
- Ensure the maintenance shop is organized, well-equipped, and supports efficient workflows and timely repairs.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing data analysis and feedback to enhance maintenance processes and reduce operational costs.
- Provide technical expertise across multiple systems, including HVAC, electrical, boilers, chemical, conveyor, forklift operations and food processing equipment, ensuring all equipment meets industry standards.
- Develop and manage the maintenance budget, tracking expenses and making data-driven decisions to optimize resource allocation.
- Foster strong interpersonal relationships with all departments, promoting collaboration to identify and resolve maintenance-related issues effectively.
- Demonstrate excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks, allocate resources effectively, and manage unforeseen maintenance challenges.
- Adapt to changing priorities and conditions, demonstrating flexibility in leadership to support plant objectives and team dynamics.
- Ensure ongoing training and development of maintenance staff, enhancing their technical skills and safety awareness to maintain a highly skilled workforce.
