Freshlunches is a food service company focused on the private school community. We are looking for amazing people who enjoy being in a school environment and working with students. This position is ideal for the candidate who loves hospitality but does not prefer the long evening and weekend hours. Hours are full time during the school year with limited hours (part time) during the summer months.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The School Café Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective operation of the café located within the school premises. They play a vital role in training and developing the staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality meals, catered events and services to students, staff, and other stakeholders. The School Café Manager will ensure that the café provides high-quality food and maintains a welcoming environment and fosters positive relationships within the school community.
RESPONSIBILITES
Café Operations Management :
- Plan, organize, and oversee the day-to-day operations of the café.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to food safety and hygiene standards.
- Manage inventory, including ordering and stocking of food, beverages, and supplies.
- Monitor and control costs, including food waste, labor expenses, and equipment maintenance.
Customer Service and Relations :
Foster a welcoming and friendly atmosphere in the café, ensuring excellent customer service is provided at all times.Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.Build positive relationships with students, faculty, and staff, and seek feedback to improve the café experience.Communication and Relationship Building :
Maintain positive relationships with school staff, including administrators, teachers, and support staff, to create a supportive and collaborative environment.Act as a point of contact for school staff regarding cafeteria-related inquiries, feedback, and special requestsWork closely with school administrators, teachers, and other staff members to understand their needs, preferences, and feedback regarding the cafeteria services.Staff Management and Training :
Recruit, hire, train, and supervise café staff members, including cooks, servers, and cashiers.Schedule and assign work shifts, ensuring adequate staffing levels during peak hours.Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance employees' skills and knowledge.Conduct performance evaluations, address any performance issues, and recognize outstanding contributions.Menu Planning and Execution :
Monitor customer feedback and adjust menus accordingly.Health and Safety Compliance :
Ensure compliance with all local health, safety, and sanitation regulations.Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the café, including food preparation areas, dining areas, and storage spaces.Qualifications and Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, food service administration, or a related field (preferred).Proven experience in food service management, with an emphasis on collaborating with school staff and understanding educational institution dynamics.Catering experience a plus.Knowledge of nutrition guidelines, dietary restrictions, and allergy management.Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate employees.Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with school staff effectively.Familiarity with inventory management and cost-control techniques.Understanding of health and safety regulations related to food service.Ability to work under pressure and handle diverse customer needs.Job Type : Full-time
