Job Description
Freshworks is seeking a dynamic and strategic Chief of Staff to partner with our Chief Financial & Operations Officer (CFOO), driving organizational alignment and operational excellence across all FinOps teams. In this role you will act as a trusted advisor, strategic thought partner, and operational leader to ensure the seamless execution of strategic priorities. You will be a key partner to the CFOO, providing strategic support, managing key initiatives, and driving operational efficiency within the FinOps function by working closely and collaboratively with all functional departments that interact with the FinOps teams.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Execution:
- Collaborate with CFOO to define and execute the critical and strategic initiatives. Track progress against key objectives and ensure alignment across departments.
- Translate strategic priorities into actionable plans and initiatives, ensuring alignment across the FinOps function.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Serve as a bridge between FinOps, and other teams to drive cohesive decision-making and execution.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Cultivate relationships with employees at all levels of the organization, ensuring blind spots are identified and surfaced to the leadership team.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and engagement across the FinOps leadership team.
- Work closely with each leadership member to ensure alignment with stakeholders' needs and expectations.
Operational Efficiency:
- Drive a streamlined, scalable, and aligned operational framework that supports strategic priorities.
- Set the FinOps meeting agendas, provide insights to assist in strategic debates, and track follow-through.
- Plan and prepare the agendas for significant internal meetings (such as, board meetings, QBRs, etc.)
- Take active role in driving content and facilitating leadership off-sites, FinOps Team All Hands
- Take ownership of the FinOps corporate calendar; identify opportunities to streamline and enhance overall productivity.
Program Management for Strategic projects:
- Support high-impact strategic projects and initiatives, ensuring timely delivery of results that align with Freshworks' business objectives.
- Operate at a tactical, strategic, and operational level, overseeing projects that do not neatly fit within the organizational chart or that fall between departments or leadership areas of responsibility.
- Confidentiality: handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion and maintain high confidentiality.
Data-Driven Decision-Making:
- Analyze key metrics and provide actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
Leadership Enablement:
- Support CFOO in prioritizing and preparing for critical meetings, internal and external communication, and stakeholder engagements.
Expert communicator and facilitator:
- Draft written communications including documents and presentations.
- Synthesize concepts into a compelling format that leaves the audience clearly informed and frequently inspired.
- Expert facilitator: manage conversations, synthesize multiple points of view, align on direction, and report out the summary of key decisions and next steps.
Qualifications
- Experience in a Chief of Staff, Strategy, Finance or Operations role within a fast-paced, high-growth organization, preferably in SaaS or technology
- Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with a focus on execution and results.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of crafting clear and impactful messaging.
- Comfort working with ambiguity and driving clarity in complex situations.
- Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communicator both written and verbal. Ability to articulate thoughts into words. Leadership presence is a plus.
- Politically savvy with business context and a deep understanding of all the functions of the business
- Relationship skills - ability to build relationships with key stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- High EQ and comfortable influencing all levels of the organization
- Highly adaptable, self-starter with a proven ability to balance work directed by the CFOO and self-directed work

- High level of integrity and professionalism
Preferred Skills
- Experience in project management and/or finance/operational roles.
- Background in consulting, finance or business strategy is a plus coupled with relevant operational experience
- MBA a plus
Additional Information
The annual base salary range for this position is $201,000 — $272,000 USD.
Compensation is based on a variety of factors including but not limited to location, experience, job-related skills, and level. Bonus/equity may be available.
