This rapidly growing Cannabis company is hiring IMMEDIATELY for a Bookkeeper/Office Manager. Located in Estacada just 25 minutes outside of downtown Portland, this is an outstanding company to work with and a lot of room for growth within the company. Position: Bookkeeper/Office Manager
Compensation: Competitive and dependent upon experience
Hours: Flexible . 25 -35 hours per week , 5 hours minimum in office work twice weekly.
Position Overview:
The ideal candidate will have advanced QuickBooks proficiency and other accounting software knowledge, and experience with financial statement analysis. Financial planning and budgeting skills are necessary for this role.
Some aspects of this position require in office work at least two days per week while some tasks can be performed remotely.
Must have a proven ability to keep organized, ability to manage multiple projects at the same time, remain flexible, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and constantly changing environment. The candidate will be expected to clearly convey thoughts and ideas and will have exceptional problem solving, written, and oral communication skills. Experience using MS Office, particularly advanced knowledge of Excel, Outlook, and Word or Google eco system is required. Must be very detail-oriented, highly accurate, and yet soundly comprehend and clearly communicate the big picture concepts. The candidate will be expected to define problematic issues and assist with preparation and recommendations of possible alternative solutions. Must be able to work well independently, yet remain a team player.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records through double entry bookkeeping and general ledger accounting.
- Preparing and recording cash deposits
- Prepare monthly financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP.
- Manage accounts receivable, ensuring timely invoicing and collections.
- Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
- Process payroll and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Utilize QuickBooks or other financial software for efficient record keeping and reporting.
- Assist in preparing for audits by providing necessary documentation and reports.
- Collaborate with management to develop budgets and forecasts based on financial data.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and best practices.
Key Competencies and Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper or similar role, demonstrating proficiency in accounting principles.
- Strong knowledge of technical accounting practices and financial software applications.
- Experience with QuickBooks is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with GAAP standards is essential.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate account analysis.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and effective communication abilities.
- A degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred but not required; relevant experience will be considered.
- Accounts Payable (data entry, Budget analysis)
- Accounts Receivable (invoicing, purchase orders, post payments to Zoho system, reconcile bank statements with quickbooks, counting cash and reconciling against invoices, preparing deposits)
- Past Due Collections ( Send past due invoices, Collect on Past due balances)
- Payroll (review/confirm state taxes for all employees, entry of time sheets, garnishments, calculate/pay payroll taxes)
- Tax Preparation (prepare/file quarterly tax payments, gather W-9 information, prepare 1099’s and document preparation for CPA)
- Office Management (order supplies, coordinate with workers comp insurance information with insurance agent)
- Quarterly statements preparation and submission
- Department Budget oversight
