Position Description
The Fresno County Assessor-Recorder's Office invites applications for the position of Chief Auditor-Appraiser. Incumbents manage the activities of the Personal Property Division of the Assessor-Recorder’s Office by planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating divisional goals, programs, policies, and procedures through consultation with the Assessor-Recorder and by directing subordinate staff responsible for the division's daily operations.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree with the completion of at least eighteen (18) semester units of accounting and/or auditing coursework that is acceptable within the United States' accredited college or university system.
Experience: Three (3) years of full-time, paid supervisory work experience as an Auditor-Appraiser in a California County Assessor's Office or with the California State Board of Equalization.License: Possession of a valid Class "C" driver's license, or equivalent.
Certificate: Possession of a valid Advanced Appraiser certificate issued by the California State Board of Equalization.HOW TO APPLY:

SELECTION PROCESS:
Pursuant to Fresno County Personnel Rule 4 - Selection Process, applicants may be required to complete an examination process and successful candidates will be placed on an employment list effective for a minimum of 3 months and certified in final rank order as vacancies occur.

- The eligible list for this recruitment may be extended up to 12 months, and may be used to fill both extra-help and permanently allocated positions.
- Individuals selected for extra-help appointment may be transitioned to a permanently allocated position at a later date as authorized by the Fresno County Personnel Rules.

Positions in this classification are in Medical Group II - Moderate Physical Activity (Personnel Rule 8). This group includes positions which require moderate physical effort using arms, legs, back, and trunk in frequent lifting, pushing or pulling of objects weighing (or offering resistance equivalent to) 10-25 pounds, and occasionally over 25 pounds. Generally, bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, reaching, as well as standing and walking are involved.
