Samples of Duties
- Plan and direct the acquisition, disposition, appraisal, and lease of real property;
- Read, analyze, and interpret applicable codes, ordinances, laws, and legislation;
- Maintain accurate records of leased and owned real estate, including lease expirations and annual rent adjustments;
- Effectively and independently manage multiple work assignments, set priorities, and meet established deadlines;
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing;
- Make presentations to the Board of Supervisors, other agencies, and the public;
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships at all organizational levels, as well as other agencies and the general public.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Principles of real property appraisal, acquisition, disposition, relocation and methods to describe real property;
- Principles of property management for commercial properties;
- Federal, state, and local laws and regulations to pertaining to real property acquisition and disposition;
- Legal documents necessary for the transfer of property rights;
- Escrow functions and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
Please Note: This recruitment has been limited to candidates possessing a specific experience background related to the specific position vacancy.
Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree that is acceptable within the United States’ accredited college or university system.
Experience: Four (4) years of full-time, paid work experience facilitating and negotiating the acquisition, disposition, or lease of commercial properties.
Substitution: Possession of a master’s degree that is acceptable within the United States’ accredited college or university system may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience.
The following information is in addition to the options listed above:
License: Possession of a valid Class "C" driver's license, or equivalent.
Note: Incumbents must obtain and maintain Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Department of Justice (DOJ) clearance as a condition of employment.

SELECTION PROCESS
Pursuant to Fresno County Personnel Rule 4 - Selection Process, applicants may be required to complete an examination process and successful candidates will be placed on an employment list effective for a minimum of 3 months, and certified in final rank order as vacancies occur.

- The eligible list for this recruitment may be extended up to 12 months and may be used to fill both extra-help and permanently allocated positions.
- Individuals selected for extra-help appointment may be transitioned to a permanently allocated position at a later date as authorized by the Fresno County Personnel Rules.
