SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
None.
SUMMARY
Responsible for the supervision of residents and oversight of facility in a Shelter or Transitional/Bridge Housing setting.
Assists in the fulfillment of the agency’s vision, “For Those We Serve,” by empowering individuals who thrive as healthy, self-sufficient and contributing members of our communities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provides awake supervision of the facility, grounds, and residents during assigned shift.
Answers phones, provides general reception of visitors on-site, ensures signing in of non-resident visitors and maintains a log of all activity at the site during an assigned shift.
Provides crisis intervention information to clients.
Facilitates workshops (e.g. independent living skills, life skills and health and safety education) and/or authorized activities with program participants.
Completes child abuse referrals as required of all mandated reporters.
Maintains positive community relations with residents and community organizations.
Assists in general facility upkeep and assigns chores to clients to maintain facility cleanliness. Maintains a log of incidents, facility maintenance issues and resolutions and report issues to Maintenance.
Notifies designated Project Manager/Coordinator/Case Manager of unusual situations regarding a resident including abuse of facility/apartment rules and safety plans.
Performs routine room inspections for cleanliness, contraband and safety hazards. Ensures a safe and secure environment for residents.
Contacts emergency/medical personnel for residents, if necessary.
Reports theft, property damage or security breaches to Maintenance and Shelter Services Coordinator.
Prepares and maintains client case files in a confidential manner and maintains proper documentation in the staff communication logs regarding client behavior and activity.
Attends ongoing staff meetings and trainings.
Adheres to all guidelines, procedures, and protocols of the Shelters, Transitional Housing, and Bridge Housing, Fresno Economic Opportunities Commission and federal and state regulations (i.e. Community Care Licensing, Housing and Homeless Assistance Program).
Facilitates the daily intake and exit process of program participants; prepares and maintains all files in a confidential manner
Responsible for ordering meals, preparing meals for clients, and documentation of who ate the meals.
Provides information to clients regarding shelter operations, location of and operation of laundry facilities, gates and explanation of rules.
Monitors site location for cleanliness and to ensure the site is safe.
Informs clients of availability of housing, employment, and educational opportunities.
Travels for agency business including transporting clients using personal/agency vehicle.
Maintains regular attendance and punctuality.
Works evenings and weekends as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or GED.
EXPERIENCE:
One year of related experience working with youth, homeless populations, or in a social service related area required.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working in a residential setting with evening and weekend availability.
CPR and First Aid certification preferred; required within six months of hire.
Ability to safely transport clients to and from activities and appointments.
Pass required background investigation including medical examination and TB clearance, acceptable criminal record statement, Department of Justice fingerprint clearance, and child abuse index clearance.
Maintain a valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, adequate auto insurance as required by State law, and insurability by agency carrier.
COVID-19 vaccination required within 60 days of hire, unless approved for religious or medical exemption.
