SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
None.
SUMMARY
Under general supervision, the Training Facilitator is responsible for training seniors sixty years and older on the usage of technology and smart devices.
Assist in the fulfillment of the Agency’s vision, “A strong Fresno County where people have resources to shape their future free from poverty.”
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provides training for seniors in an individual or group class setting to teach technology basics including use of smart phones and tablets, setting up and using email and social media, how to use the internet safely, web conferencing, and other related technology training.
Uses provided curriculum to conduct trainings.
Trains mentors, tutors and communicates seniors registered for classes and workshops on technology topics and device usage. Individual classes may be conducted for those who cannot attend group classes.
Ensures clients meets eligibility requirements of the program.
Travels for agency business to designated class locations to conduct technology classes and workshops.
Schedules classes efficiently by geographic location to conduct multiple on-site classes per day.
Maintains daily appointment scheduling calendar. Responsible for client contact to schedule regular meetings / trainings. Confirms appointments prior to travel.
Responsible for keeping ATP Coordinator and Program Assistant informed of weekly schedule by entering electronically on program calendar and calendar print outs if necessary.
Travels for agency business using reliable transportation.
Maintains regular attendance and punctuality.
Works evenings and weekends as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:
High school diploma or GED.
Associate’s Degree or certification in Information Technology. Additional relevant work experience may substitute required education on a year-by-year basis.
EXPERIENCE:
Two (2) years’ experience with Zoom web-based conferencing, iPad tablets and smart devices, social media on multiple platforms, training software, and other technology-based communication systems required.
Experience working with seniors and/or experience with persons with disabilities, preferably with training experience, highly desirable.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
Patience and ability to keep a professional and kind demeanor while working with a group of people
that have little to no previous experience in technology use is priority. Ability to maintain
professionalism while having to repeat oneself multiple times.
Ability to travel in rural areas if needed.
Ability to work independently and troubleshoot/resolve issues.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and related business software.
Effective presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
Willing to work non-traditional hours and days to meet the needs of this position.
Bilingual in English and Spanish or other secondary language preferred based on the needs of the clients and the program.
Maintain a valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, adequate auto insurance as required by State law, and insurability by agency carrier for those driving agency vehicles.
