Roles and Responsibilities:
A Quality Lead Technician has the same responsibilities as a Quality Senior Technician, when a Quality Senior Technician is not present. The Quality Lead Technician position is a training position for leadership skills and business acumen. While in the position the Quality Lead Technician will be training on and becoming familiar with all of the Quality Senior Technician responsibilities so that in their absence, operations are unaffected. When the Quality Senior Technician is present, the Quality Lead Technician may be working the line as a machine operator, but is still expected to be a supporter of the Quality Senior Technician and the Quality Senior Technician decisions. Primary Duties / Essential Functions:
· Must display leadership, facilitating, and teamwork skills; must lead by example
· Willingness and ability to train and prepare other individuals for job advancement opportunities through instruction and actual hands on training
· Perform pre-operational sanitation and work with sanitation employees daily which include, but are not limited to:
o Inspection of all RTE equipment
o Inspection of all Raw equipment
o Lock/Out Tag Out on all equipment
o HACCP Documentation
o Inspection of Coolers, Ovens, Blast cells, and corridors
o Pre-op reporting to upper management and sanitation supervisor
· Work with Production Supervisors regarding daily production processes and improvement opportunities), which include, but are not limited to:
· RAW audits of:
o Materials
o Pump percentages
o Brine verifications
o Incoming trailer checks
o Scale Checks
· RTE/Boxing audits of:
o Line Checks
o Label Verification
o Scale Checks
o GMP Audits
o Color Code Audit
o Glass and Brittle Plastics Audit
o Product color verification
o Re-work verification
o Dry goods verification
o Audit reporting to upper management and suppliers
· Perform and document supplier audits, finished product audits, GMP and SSOP audits
· Work within the limits of HACCP, GMP, SSOP, and Quality Manual
· Test and inspect products at various stages of production
· Offer recommendations for modifications to production processes to achieve optimum quality
· Ability to Perform Tasks in all departments (Raw,RTE,Boxing)
· Strong Overall Knowledge of all Products at FQM
· Know and recognize quality products and practices, and take action when defects are identified
· Keep the Quality Manager informed on a timely basis of anything that could affect the Quality of the product
· Project a positive attitude and protect Frick’s Quality Meats, Inc. image of honesty, integrity, and fairness
· Ability to work overtime as required by production needs
· Assist with product development trials and routine testing.
· Quality Lead Technician’s should have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
· Ability to navigate and understand Frick’s Ammonia software
· Ability to navigate and understand Frick’s oven software
· Other duties as may be assigned by Supervisor
Workplace Requirements:
· Stand (stationary position): Must be able to remain standing for entire shift
· Walk (move / traverse): Needs to move about inside the facilities to access machinery and move product through plant
· Exposure to work (exposed, work around): Works in cool, 35 to 45-degree, and damp conditions
· Carry weight, lift (move, transport, position, put, install, remove): Frequently lifts production materials weighing up to 50 pounds overhead for various production needs
· Twisting, turning and bending: Frequently moves production materials weighing up to 50 pounds around production facility
· Use hands/fingers to handle or feel (operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, detect, position): Able to operate machinery, and other production equipment, and manipulate product.
· Climb or balance: Occasionally ascends/descends stairs and ladders to operate production machinery
· Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl (position self, move): Constantly positions self to maintain production requirements and equipment
· Talk/hear (communicate, detect, converse with, discern, convey, express oneself, exchange information): Frequently communicates with co-workers and supervisor(s) regarding production requirements; must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
· See (detect, determine, perceive, identify, recognize, observe, inspect, assess): Must be able to identify defects and inspect product for quality
· Taste/Smell (detect, distinguish, determine): Able to distinguish sweet, sour, salty and bitter flavors when inspecting varieties of product for customers and detect ammonia smell
Education:
o High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
o HACCP Certified
o Cured Meat Short Coarse
Experience:
Must possess excellent supervisory, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Outstanding organizational, production and coordination abilities.
Experience working with or processing raw meat preferred.
Reliability or history of good attendance and must maintain good attendance.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
