Roles and Responsibilities:
The Ready To Eat (RTE)/Boxing Associate is responsible for performing various positions on each production line, such as slicer, bagger, product loader, peeler, buttoner, padder, scale operator, packer, stacker, labeler, and machine operator.
Primary Duties / Essential Functions:
· Commit to keeping high standards of food safety and product quality of all Frick’s Quality Meats products
· Actively practice safety and cleanliness in all aspects of the job
· Know and practice proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
· Maintain individual position on the production line in a fast pace environment
· Wrap and seal meat products efficiently and timely to produce a high standard of production
· Label, inspect, box, weigh, palletize and document various products
· Contribute to the team effort by working with other associates and following production policies and procedures
· Maintain awareness of and compliance with OSHA, DOT, USDA and other governmental agencies
· Sustain a constant sense of urgency and high employee morale
· Know and recognize quality products and practices, and take action when defects are identified
· Be constantly aware of expense control and cost savings
· Keep the RTE Supervisor informed on a timely basis of anything that could affect the performance of the RTE department and the company
· Participate in production training or continuing education programs to enhance industry knowledge and production techniques
· Project a positive attitude and protect Frick’s Quality Meats, Inc. image of honesty, integrity, and fairness
· Know and follow Standard Work
· Ability to work overtime as required by production needs
· Other duties as may be assigned by Supervisor
Workplace Requirements:
· Stand: Must be able to remain in a stationary position for entire shift
· Walk: Needs to occasionally move about inside the facilities to access machinery and move product through plant
· Exposure to work: Constantly works in cool, 45-degree, and damp conditions. Exposure to loud sounds, bright lighting and flashing lights.
· Carry weight, lift: Consistently lifts production materials weighing up to 60 pounds overhead for various production needs
· Twisting, turning and bending: Frequently moves production materials weighing up to 60 pounds around production facility
Workplace Requirements (continued):
· Use hands/fingers to handle or feel: Constantly operates machinery, product and other production equipment
· Climb or balance: Occasionally ascends/descends stairs and ladders to operate production machinery
· Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl: Constantly positions self to maintain production requirements and equipment
· Talk/hear: Frequently communicates with co-workers and supervisor(s) regarding production requirements; must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
· See: Must be able to identify defects and inspect product for quality
· Taste/Smell: Able to distinguish the presence of ammonia
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
