Insurance Coverage Attorney
We have partnered with a distinguished law firm on the search for an Insurance Coverage Attorney. You will work out of our New Jersey office but must be licensed to practice in New York and New Jersey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive legal advice on insurance coverage issues, including analysis of policy language and interpretation.
- Draft detailed coverage opinions, position letters, and reservation of rights letters.
- Represent insurers or policyholders in litigation matters, including declaratory judgment actions and bad faith claims.
- Conduct discovery, depositions, and motions practice in state and federal courts.
- Collaborate with clients, claims professionals, and other attorneys to develop and execute legal strategies.
- Stay updated on relevant insurance laws and industry trends in New York and New Jersey.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in both New York and New Jersey.
- 3 years of experience in insurance coverage law, including both advising and litigation.
- Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines efficiently.
- Experience with mediation and settlement negotiations is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with various types of insurance policies, including commercial general liability, professional liability, and property policies.
- Expertise in handling bad faith claims and coverage disputes.
- Proficiency in case management tools and legal research platforms.
