JOB SUMMARY
Friend Family Health Center is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Lead to support financial operations, maintain the integrity of accounting records, and ensure compliance with financial regulations. This role requires expertise in accounting processes, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance, working closely with the Controller and other finance professionals to optimize financial accuracy and efficiency.
JOB DUTIES
- Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and forecasts.
- Assist in variance analysis and reporting discrepancies to management.
- Support the month-end and year-end close process by ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
Budget & Compliance Support
- Assist in budget preparation, monitoring expenditures, and reconciling variances.
- Ensure transactions adhere to GAAP, internal policies, and financial regulations.
- Collaborate with auditors by providing requested financial documentation.
Accounting Operations
- Process general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, and account adjustments.
- Manage accounts payable/receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Support bank and cash reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.
- Maintain and update financial data in the accounting system (Sage Intacct preferred).
Process Improvement & Internal Controls
- Assist in identifying process enhancements to improve financial workflows.
- Ensure proper documentation of financial transactions for audit readiness.
- Work with the finance team to implement best practices in financial operations.
Other Responsibilities
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed.
- Support grant financial tracking and compliance reporting.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of financial data.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA certification preferred but not required.
- 3-5 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or general ledger management.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Sage Intacct preferred).
- Knowledge of GAAP, financial regulations, and nonprofit financial management (preferred).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Occupational Risk for Exposure to TB:
There is an occupational risk for exposure to TB, as this position involves extensive community and patient contact. Employees in this role are required to comply with annual TB testing as part of workplace health and safety protocols. The only acceptable exceptions to this requirement are documented medical contraindications or religious objections. Employees who decline TB testing will be required to wear a mask when deemed necessary.
