POSITION: Resource Development Manager
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Cultivate New Resources
- Seek out new funding sources, contributions, and in-kind opportunities from local, regional, state and national sources. Work with staff in development of grants and requests for funds.
- Manage the grant calendar, oversee all grants/applications/sponsorships and ensure deadlines and reporting requirement are met.
- Coordinate the annual appeal drive, annual event and work with staff to coordinate program specific events (holiday baskets, back to school, family nights, etc.)
Enhance Relationships with Existing Resources
· Maintain communication with existing donors, partners, sponsors, funders and keep them informed about the success of programs, need for additional resources or ways to expand the relationship.
· Maintain donor database and coordinate all recognition of donations, grants, funds.
Market the Effectiveness
· Develop and maintain an intimate knowledge of programs and services of the agency.
· Utilize all forms of communication i.e. newsletters, brochures, fliers, social media, website, local media to tell the Friendly House story.
· Represent the agency in organizations specializing in fund development, public relations, marketing.
· Coordinate and supervise volunteers who assist with special events, fundraisers, and other related agency activities such as special mailings, newsletter distribution, etc.
· Maintain relationship with board members and staff and serve as a member of the agency management team.
· Represent Friendly House in one local service organization
Technical
- Understand the computer, phones, printers and software utilization for the entire agency. Serve as the primary contact for the outsourced technical services contractor.
- Responsible for agency data, including outcomes and attendance.

· Be familiar with Friendly House’s and the State of Iowa’s safety procedures
· Be familiar with the Friendly House Disaster Preparedness Plan

- Understanding of nonprofits and the need for Resource Development
- Knowledge of human behavior and performances
- Knowledge of policies, procedures and strategies

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Undergraduate degree in Marketing, development or related field
- Experience in resource development and marketing, preferably in a nonprofit setting
- Computer expertise, especially using programs related to publishing, database, website design and social media
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Background Check/Fingerprinting
- Driver’s license in good standing
- Proof of current insurance coverage

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
