Summary:
This position requires a dependable and organized person who possesses a great deal of mental stamina who can consistently ensure the accurate, timely and safe delivery of clients. The driver must be detail-oriented, efficient, and have a clean driving record.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use physical movement. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop or crouch. The employee must be able to sit in vehicle seat for extended periods, perform a significant amount of driving, bending, and listen to and respond to radio and phone communications.
Drivers are responsible for transporting clients, medical and non-medical, to and from different locations and in some cases unload clients at different and multiple facilities. They are also required to perform inspections before and after a trip. These drivers also follow appropriate safety procedures, performs necessary documentation in a timely and correct manner. They arrive at work on-time daily ready for duty and present a professional company image through excellent service, safe operation and timeliness. They maintain vehicle and equipment in compliance with Company guidelines. Smile and enjoy your day!
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervision of people; however this position does require a responsibility to deliver services in a timely, professional and customer-oriented manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Arrives at work on time daily, ready for duty when shift starts and maintains consistent and excellent attendance;
- Smiles and greet the customer pleasantly. Remember they may be having a bad day;
- Provides transportation assistance in a safe, professional, and timely manner, free of accidents, injuries, and damages;
- Inspects vehicle equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water, etc. and cleans the inside and the outside of the truck and maintains fluid levels according to manufacturer standards and note quantities added on inspection sheet;
- Completes and turn-in pre-trip inspection report prior to the start of your shift AND turn in the post-trip inspection report at the end of each shift;
- Abides by all Federal, State, and Municipal laws, rules and ordinances and maintain a clean driving record;
- Maintains and operate vehicle and equipment in a safe, clean, and professional manner;
- Ensures consistent and quality customer service through professionalism, timely response, skill and courtesy;
- Demonstrates a clean, professional appearance, is well groomed, and adheres to the dress code policy;
- Cooperates with all co-workers, utilizes and updates the portals (HBSS, CTS, Circulation, etc.) as instructed during training.
- Attends driver, safety, and employee meetings and trainings as requested for job and safety purposes;
- Attends training and achieve professional/driving class certification as directed by management;
- Studies information provided by the Company to maintain and upgrade industry and job knowledge;
- Assists in training new employees when requested;
- Ensures vehicle and tablet GPS location indicators are turned-on during work hours, and applicable apps are loaded on mobile devices;
- Receives and executes assignments as distributed by dispatching and calls in any discrepancies immediately;
- Cleans and removes debris from vehicles if left behind by clients and reports any items left in vehicle immediately to dispatcher;
- Returns vehicle, Locks vehicle, and Places keys in key rack, in office, at the end of shift;
- Schedules time for fueling at beginning of shift, before pickup of first client;
- Documents time and obtains Client signature for each trip;
- Completes & turns-in “Daily trip sheets and corresponding Client Signature sheets” at the end of each week (no later than 8:00am Monday of the new week);
- Uses business cards to drive referrals and repeat business;
- Drives offensively, always wears a seat belt, remembers 40 second following rule, and adheres to all of the rules and regulations set forth by our clients particularly the no food or beverage rule in the vehicles;

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must perform essential duties satisfactorily and in compliance to Agency and Friendly Ride requirements.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred;
- 2 years proven driving experience preferred, skilled at driving assigned vehicles and has a clean driving record with no moving violations;
- Possesses correct and valid driver’s license and class for weight of vehicle assigned;
- Must pass background check and drug test;
- Presents clean, well-groomed appearance;
- Demonstrates positive customer service attitude – both to co-workers (internal customers) and customers’(external customers);
- Demonstrates a high-level of composure and good stress management;
- Possesses good English verbal communication, legible handwriting, and basic math functionality;
- Ability to safely lift 50 pounds unassisted;
- Ability to sit in vehicle seat for extended periods, significant amount of driving, listening to and responding to radio and phone communications;
- Successfully pass drug tests and physical requirements in compliance with Company Policy, Local-State-Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations;
- Must submit to and pass background check as per Company policy and Company's contractual requirements;

- Possess client specific certification and/or be willing to attain said certification if position requires it;
