The Admissions Coordinator is responsible for the overall coordination and preparation of admissions inclusive of providing direction to Admissions Assistant. Responsible for marketing to external referral sources.

- Coordinates the admission process: responds to inquiries, conducts tours, interviews prospective applicants, ensures completion of application.
- In collaboration with Director and nursing, determines appropriateness for admission and placement in facility.
- Performs brief social history/psychosocial assessment of new admission.
- Assists applicants and families with issues related to adjustment, illness, placement, etc.
- Assigns clerical tasks pertaining to admissions to the assistant.
- Provides coverage for all admission tasks in staff’s absence.
- Carries out educational/marketing strategies to maximize bed utilization and promote programs and services.
- Assists in the development of annual revenue projections and the development of strategies to meet occupancy and payer mix goals.
- Acts as liaison with referral sources inclusive of Cloverwood/Glenmere.
- Provides consultation to Linden Knoll staff regarding potential applicant.
- Assists in the development of a comprehensive marketing plan and carries out the activities outlined in the plan.
- Conducts site visits to referral sources to promote the Home and market services.
- Maintains admissions and marketing statistics.
- Develops weekly admissions report.
- Develops monthly marketing report.
Other Job Functions
Qualifications of the Position:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or NYS Licensed Practical Nurse license.
- Experience: 1-3 years working in a nursing home setting; 1 year nursing home admissions experience preferred.
- Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to meet the public and work well with the aged and infirmed.
- Licenses / Certifications: Must possess a valid NYS driver’s license.
Expectations of the Position:
- Dependable, report to work on-time for every schedule shift (ready to work at beginning - start of shift) and work full schedule shifts unless physically unable or pre-approved Paid Time Off (PTO) which includes personal and vacation.
- Willing and able to work overtime and weekends as required by the position and/or approved by management.
- Have reliable transportation to and from work.
- Must be clean and neat in appearance and have a “friendly” service-oriented, cooperative, demeanor and supports Culture of Excellence initiatives by interactions with co-workers and/or Members.
- Abide by work-related / job procedures and organization policies; (refer to the Employee Handbook).

- Work is performed in a clean, well lit, “Home-Like,” nursing Home setting.
- Employee must be able to perform essential job functions (reasonable accommodation may apply).

- Must meet the general health requirements set forth by Friendly Home.
- May be requested to assist in the evacuation of Members or perform other procedures to protect the safety of Members, visitors and team members during emergency situations.
