As a progressive early learning center, we believe in offering nurturing, loving, and supportive interactions to promote positive learning experiences across social/emotional, cognitive, and physical development. We provide a stimulating environment where children can explore and learn through play, building a strong foundation for their future success.
Our center serves children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old, with 6 classrooms and a licensed capacity for 68 children. We employ a team of approximately 20 staff members and operate year-round, Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM. This position can be full or part time, however we ask for flexible availability within center hours.
As the Assistant Director, you will play a key role in ensuring the operational, educational, and cultural success of the center. You will work closely with the Director to manage daily operations, support our passionate staff, and foster positive relationships with families, all while ensuring compliance with state and local regulations. This role offers opportunities for professional growth, with the potential to become Co-Director as you develop in your career.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Has an EEC DI or DII certification (Lead Teacher certification acceptable)
- Current CPR/FA certification
- 3 years of classroom/teaching experience
- Has experience managing a large staff
- In-depth knowledge of early childhood development and emergent curriculum
- Familiar with EEC licensing requirements and procedures
- Possess a positive attitude, with a strong ability to motivate and inspire staff
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Job Responsibilities (assisting the Director with, but not limited to):
- Oversee daily operations of the center
- Interview, hire, and train new staff to maintain high-quality care
- Support curriculum development, assessments, and daily activities to ensure they align with educational goals
- Provide center tours for prospective families, assist with enrollment/transition processes, and maintain strong communication with families
- Organize family events and other collaboration projects.
- Lead monthly staff meetings and coordinate professional development initiatives to ensure continuous growth for the team
