Friends Home in Kennett, a senior living community located in Kennett Square, PA, is seeking a PT Community Life Associate to work an average of 24 hours per week, including every Sunday. Occasional evening hours may be required. The Community Life Associate will organize and lead group activities in areas of interest to residents in our Personal Care and Skilled Nursing Homes. EOE
Essential Functions:
- Assisting the Community Life Director in the designing, planning, creating, initiating, facilitating and execution of a diverse range of recreational and educational activities and events
- Encouraging residents or participants to engage in scheduled activities
- Setting up and cleaning up activity spaces before and after events
- Ensuring the safety of participants during activities
- Monitoring participant engagement and happiness, and adjusting activities as needed
- Documenting participant attendance and progress
- Assisting with community celebrations such as Nursing Home Week, holiday parties, and other special events
Requirements:
· High school diploma or GED required
· Knowledge of Montessori methodology and its application strongly preferred
· Proficient in English Language, reading, writing, grammar, math skills
· Knowledge of needs specific to senior adults
· Comfortable working with the senior population, including physically and/or cognitively impaired adults
· Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook
· Driver’s license in good standing
· Working knowledge of Human Services/Geriatric programs
· Ability to lift 50 lbs
· Comfortable in advocating and partnering with the surrounding community
· Enthusiasm, Customer Service Skills, Communication Skills
· Team Player
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 29 per week
