Friends Home in Kennett, a senior living community in Kennett Square, PA, is seeking an Infection Preventionist/RN Charge Nurse. This position is a dual role, with both charge nurse responsibilities (on average two days per week) and Infection Preventionist responsibilities (on average three days per week). The Infection Preventionist is crucial in maintaining the health and safety of our residents by implementing effective infection prevention strategies. The Infection Preventionist will work closely with staff to ensure compliance with health regulations and promote best practices in infection control.
General Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement infection prevention policies and procedures
- Conduct regular training sessions for staff on infection control practices
- Monitor infection rates and analyze data to identify trends
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to manage outbreaks effectively
- Perform observations to ensure adherence to infection prevention and control measures
- Review documentation related to infection prevention and control measures
- Stay updated on OSHA and Dept of Health regulations and ensure compliance within the facility
- Serve as RN Charge Nurse on average 2 days/week
Requirements:
RN license
- Certification in Infection Control or ability to obtain certification required
- Familiarity with Dept of Health and OSHA regulations
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to analyze research data and implement findings into practice
